The book Baseball Great is about a boy who is twelve years old trying out for an under fourteen team that uses steroids, secretly. Main characters of this book are Josh, Benji, Jaden, Doctor Neirdeirmyer, Rocky (coach) , Josh's dad, Jones, and Bart Wilson. The beginning plot is when Josh is taken away from his school's baseball tryouts by his dad for an under fourteen travel team. The middle plot is when Josh i given pills by a teammate, supplied by Rocky. He finds out they are steroids. Jaden and Josh later take a picture of Rocky buying steroids. The end plot is when Josh hits a walkoff homerun for his under twelve team. The author's purpose is to entertain. The theme is don't go to far for anything. The setting is modern time and takes place in Syracuse. Josh goes from nervous to scared. Genre is mystery.
