The characters are Johnny , oalty , soda , poneyboy, darvy , two - bit , steve. In the begging it talks about how Johnny goes to chool and what his big brothers do and what happend to his parentes. And it talks how they go to the movies and hang out with the socks girlfriend. then they socs gets drunk adn they fight and johnny kills one . In the end Johnny and poney boy went in a burning house and saved some kids Johnny and Dolly die . The Moral lesson is dont get into fights bad things can happen. Authors purpose dont join ganges , dont kill people. The settings were the house , movies , fountain , the house on the court yard adn then the genre is reldition . That info on this very good book
