Nancy Drew- The Case of the Rising Stars by Carolyn Keene is a great book. The main characters are Nancy, Bess, George, Sally Belmont, Will Leonard, Peter Thornton, and Denise Ellingsen. The story takes place in Chicago at a mystery lover's convention. In the beginning, two rising TV stars are kidnapped for real at the convention. Throughout the story, Nancy and her friends try to find clues to solve the crime and end up running into a few near death situations along the way. Towards the end of the story, Will Leonard also develops and changes from a stuck up, snobby TV star to a very nice, thankful man. In the end, they save everyone and solve the mystery. The lesson taught is that you should do the right thing no matter what. The author's purpose is to entertain and the genre is mystery.
