They go to Celtica to get allies for the battle, it is deserted. They are lead to a bridge by wargals. They destroy it, and Will is carried off into Skandia. Author’s purpose is to entertain. The setting is medieval world a lot like ours. It is a fiction fantasy. Will and Horace grow closer together and they are able to defend themselves. The theme is that you should confront your fears and ask questions without hesitation.
