In the book bright purple this story is about two best friends that are really close but there friendship is ending slowly all because Jessica is explaining to Ramie that is she an lesbian. Jessica is the one telling Ramie about her being an lesbian and Ramie is the one trying to take it all in, but she is just really confused. The lesson learned in the story is that even tho your friends tell you something you don't want to hear you just have to accept them. The purpose is to entertain the readers. The genre i think would fit into a real life! Yes the characters do change! In the beginning the setting takes place at the food court then in the middle it would be with the basketball team on the bus. An in the end it would be with Ramie and Jessica at Ramie's house.
